The next smartphone around 45% of American's buy will be an iPhone. And according to a recent survey around 90% of iPhone users are happy with their iPhone and said that when they upgraded, it would be to an iPhone. These numbers are very favorable to the iPhone, that said there are many willing to doubt that the iPhone is the best option. Those who know me, know that I am currently an Android user....and a little bit of an iPhone doubter. However unlike some I am willing to admit that the iPhone just does some things better than Android. One of the main reasons people don't like Android is that there are many budget options with sub-par build quality making Android look cheap. And while Apple's build quality is good, in my opinion it is no better than Samsung's or Google's. So being as opinionated and unbiased at the same time (I didn't think I could do it either), here is my general opinion, and informative ramble about iPhone's.

My Biggest Problem With iPhone's:
One of the things that bugs me the most about SOME iPhone users is the unapologetic meanness towards Android users. If you are an iPhone user and don't understand what this is like, then here are some examples:
Sees Android In Hand:
"Eeew, you have an Android, what kinda phone even is that, (doesn't listen), so it's like a Samsung?"Text Messaging:
"Yeah, so.....I can't keep texting you cuz...you know""Why???"
"Because the green bubble is REALLY bothering me!"
iPhone Users Talking About Photos:
"Wow Bob's photo looks so much worse......it must be that ANDROID quality!"(literally same photo)

Stubborn Attitude:
It is definitely annoying to have to hear someone who knows less about technology than my Grandma, try to tell me that Android sucks, or that Apple products are the best, without having any proof to back it up. This is a dangerous attitude to be applied to anything, let alone smartphone use. It is when people start blindly following and stop thinking that creates some of the world's biggest disasters.iMessage:
In my opinion iMessage is one of the iPhone's greatest features, but also one of my greatest aggrivations. iMessage is a great messaging app.....if you have an iPhone. iMessage is something I wish that all phones had.....besides the privacy issue. My problem with iMessage is that it just doesn't play fair with Android, often excluding people from friends. It also downgrades the quality of photos and videos so that they are almost un viewable from an Android. I don't know maybe I'm just jealous of iMessage.Battery Life:
iPhone batteries are generally smaller than high level Android counterparts. Apple claims that this is because their phones consume less power, but that is not always the case.Source: Amazon.com |
Apple is Too Controlling:
You don't have as much control over an iPhone as you do an Android phone. To many people this isn't a big problem. Being able to delete preinstalled apps and change themes aren't necessity's. But for people like me who like to "fight the power" this is a problem.Things I Do Like About iPhone's:
Aesthetically Pleasing:
iPhone's and Apple products in general just feel and look nice. Their interface is beautiful and easy to use. Their products just feel nice.Lorenzo Final Opinion: No...
iPhone's aren't better. They are great phones, but in my opinion are overrated and overpriced. However I am by no means trying to get you to switch to Android, on the other hand it does have some nice things to offer. My Biggest frustration is that I wish people would think before they blindly follow something, with everything, not just phones.Source: Home Builders & Re-modelers Association of Mohawk Valley |
TidBit:
Today's Tidbit is brought to you by the weirdest headline I could find:Fox causes havoc after breaking into parliament
Huh....?
Apparently a fox has been escaping the British parliament authorities and causing trouble.
Great stuff Lorenzo, keep it up
